Lead Audio Visual Engineer Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience (negotiable) Location: Greater Manchester, West and South Yorkshire (some UK-wide travel as required) About the client The client is a specialist provider of bespoke audio-visual and video conferencing solutions, with projects across the Greater Manchester, West and South Yorkshire area and some UK wide travel. They\’ve engineered commercial and domestic systems over the past 15 years, from interactive meeting rooms to home cinemas which have been delivered entirely by a highly skilled, engineer-led team. With no intermediaries, clients work directly with engineers from design through to commissioning, and benefit from ongoing support and maintenance Role overview We are seeking a Lead Audio Visual Engineer to join the client\’s technical team and oversee high‑end AV system design, installation, commissioning and aftercare. This is a hands-on leadership role, contributing across all phases of delivery, ensuring quality standards, and mentoring junior engineers. Key responsibilities Lead end‑to‑end audio-visual and video conferencing system projects: design, installation, testing, commissioning and handover Collaborate with design engineers to develop bespoke system specifications, CAD schematics and full asset/cable scheduling Project-manage installation teams to ensure on-time delivery with minimal disruption Provide hands-on leadership and mentorship to junior engineers on site Engage directly with clients to understand needs, deliver training, and demonstrate system operation Manage ongoing maintenance and support tasks, including proactive servicing and break‑fix response Keep abreast of new industry technologies and best practices, ensuring solutions stay leading-edgeIdeal candidate Extensive experience in professional AV & video conferencing installations, ideally covering businesses, education or domestic settings Knowledge and experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD, Visio, Revit), schematic generation and detailed technical documentation Strong project management and people leadership skills Excellent client-facing communication skills and a commitment to customer service Technical accreditation or equivalent experience in AMX or other AV platforms is desirable Willingness to travel across the UK (and occasionally internationally) Full UK driving licenceWhy join the client?
