THE ROLE As Site Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring the AD plant operates safely, reliably and efficiently. You'll take ownership of day-to-day site operations, working closely with operators, contractors, senior management and external stakeholders to maintain high levels of plant performance. Your responsibilities will include: Leading all day-to-day site activities and driving high standards of plant performance. Managing and developing the site operations team. Analysing and resolving production and process issues. Planning and coordinating planned maintenance and contractor activity to minimise downtime. Managing the out-of-hours call-out rota and providing operational support when required. Taking responsibility for site-level budgets and cost control. Maintaining a strong health and safety culture across the facility. Managing the Environmental Permit and ensuring site conditions and certifications remain compliant. Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including Ofgem, National Grid, HSE, Environment Agency, APHA and PAS 110. Managing recruitment, training, performance reviews and development of site personnel. Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Reporting operational and performance information to senior management. Identifying opportunities to improve processes, equipment, safety, quality and productivity. Taking ownership of improvement initiatives from identification through to implementation.WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR This is an AD-specific opportunity, so previous experience working within the anaerobic digestion sector is essential. We're looking for someone who understands the realities of operating an AD plant and can confidently take ownership of site performance. You'll ideally bring: Proven experience within anaerobic digestion. Previous experience in a site management, operations management, shift management or senior operational role within AD. Strong mechanical aptitude and an understanding of industrial/process plant operations. Experience managing and developing people. A proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements. The ability to manage competing priorities and remain effective under pressure. Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills. A genuine sense of ownership and accountability. The confidence to challenge existing processes and find better ways of working.COTC, IOSH or NEBOSH would be advantageous, but are not essential.
