Role Overview
We are recruiting an experienced Refrigeration Service Engineer to cover Glasgow and Central belt. This is a mobile service role working across commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems in retail, hospitality, and commercial environments. The successful engineer will carry out planned maintenance, reactive breakdowns, fault-finding, and repairs while maintaining high safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Service & Maintenance
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) of commercial refrigeration systems
- Reactive and emergency breakdown response
- Accurate diagnosis of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical faults
- Component replacement including compressors, fans, valves, evaporators, and controls
- Pressure testing, evacuation, leak detection, and refrigerant charging in line with F-Gas regulations
- Systems Worked On
- Walk-in cold rooms (chilled & frozen)
- Multideck, upright, and undercounter display cabinets
- Pack systems and remote condenser units
- Freezers and blast chillers
- Split A/C and light commercial VRF/VRV systems
- Compliance & Customer Interaction
- Completion of service reports, F-Gas logs, and compliance documentation
- Ensuring works meet health & safety and legislative requirements
- Liaising with site managers and facilities teams
- Providing technical advice and repair recommendations
Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
- F-Gas Category 1 (essential)
- Proven commercial refrigeration service experience
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and professionally
