Are you a skilled Fire Alarm Engineer looking to join a company that truly values its people, invests in their development, and offers long-term career stability? I am working with a well‑established national fire and security company that is expanding its service team in the South West. They are looking for a Fire Alarm Engineer to carry out service, maintenance, fault‑finding and small remedial works on a range of fire safety systems across the Southampton, Portsmouth, and Bournemouth areas.
This is a field‑based role, ideal for engineers living around Southampton, Salisbury, Andover or Winchester, although candidates slightly further afield will also be considered if they are happy to cover the patch.
The Role:- Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on a range of fire detection and alarm systems
- Attend reactive callouts and fault‑finding tasks within agreed SLAs
- Complete accurate service reports and documentation in line with BS5839 standards
- Identify and report non‑compliances, remedial work, and upgrade opportunities
- Support occasional installation or modification work as needed
- Deliver excellent customer service and uphold high safety standards
- Proven experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems (addressable and conventional)
- Strong knowledge of BS5839 and relevant industry standards
- FIA training or equivalent (foundation as a minimum)
- Full UK driving licence
- A proactive, professional approach and great communication skills
- £35,000 - £37,000 basic salary (depending on experience)
- Paid travel after the first 30 minutes each way
- Standby rate: £150 per week when on rota
- Overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours
- 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, rising with service (up to 25 days)
- Sick pay increasing with service
