Location: Covering Surrey, Berkshire & Oxfordshire (Minimal London Work)

Salary: £34,000 - £40,000 + Overtime + Travel Time + Company Vehicle

We are currently seeking a skilled Installation Engineer with a strong background in fire and security systems to join a leading company in the sector. This is a full-time, permanent role focused primarily on installations across Surrey, Berkshire, and Oxfordshire, with minimal travel into London.

The Role

As a Fire & Security Installation Engineer, your main responsibility will be the installation and commissioning of a wide range of fire and security systems, including fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control systems. While service and maintenance tasks may occasionally be required, this role is heavily installation-biased and ideal for engineers who enjoy working on full system builds and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and commission fire alarm, intruder alarm, access control, and CCTV systems
  • Carry out cabling, first and second fix installations, and system programming
  • Deliver high-quality installations to commercial and high-end residential customers
  • Complete all relevant documentation and commissioning certificates accurately
  • Ensure installations are delivered on time and to the highest standard
  • Maintain compliance with health & safety regulations and British Standards
  • Occasionally support with minor service or remedial work when required
  • Participate in a 1-in-4 on-call rota for emergency response

  • Access Control: Paxton, Lenel, Gallagher, Brivo, BPT, ACT, Inner Range
  • Intercoms: BPT, Comelit, Videx, Bell, Aiphone, AES, Fermax, Telguard
  • Intruder Alarms: Texecom, Orisec, Galaxy, Scantronic, Pyronix, Visonic
  • CCTV: Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Avigilon, Pelco, Hanwa

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years of installation experience in fire and security systems
  • Strong understanding of installation techniques, wiring methods, and commissioning procedures
  • Good working knowledge of British Standards (BS5839, BS50131, PD6662)
  • Comfortable interpreting technical drawings and specifications
  • FIA training (or equivalent) desirable
  • 18th Edition, NVQ, City & Guilds, or BTEC preferred but not essential
  • Full UK driving licence (Essential)
  • ECS/CSCS card
  • Own hand tools required
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK and pass Enhanced DBS & SC checks

Salary & Benefits

  • £34,000 - £40,000 basic salary (depending on experience)
