Our client, are a well-established and reputable event production company based in the Cheshire area and are looking for an enthusiastic and hands-on Event Technician to join their expanding team.

With a strong presence across the Northwest, the client provides professional AV, lighting, staging, and dancefloor solutions to both corporate and private clients. As the business continues to grow, they are seeking a proactive and experienced individual to support the delivery of high-quality event services.

About the Role:

As an Event Technician, you\’ll play a vital part in the setup, operation, and dismantling of lighting and AV systems for a variety of events including weddings, conferences, product launches, and live performances.

You\’ll be based out of the company\’s site in the Cheshire area but will work across multiple venues and client sites throughout the region. This is a hands-on role that requires technical competence, professionalism, and a flexible approach to working hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rigging and setting up lighting systems (fixtures, stands, power distribution, cabling).

  • Operating lighting consoles, programming cues, and adjusting during rehearsals and events.

  • Troubleshooting and resolving lighting and AV technical issues on-site.

  • Working at heights to install rigging and trussing safely.

  • Assisting with the setup and operation of other event equipment such as audio systems, video displays, dancefloors, and staging.

  • Handling and transporting equipment, ensuring safe loading and unloading of vans.

  • Preparing and checking equipment at the warehouse prior to and post-event using internal check in/out procedures.

  • Collaborating with other crew members, clients, and event planners to achieve exceptional results.

  • Installing and operating IT and AV equipment on site.

  • Representing the company professionally during live events and client interactions.

  • Driving a 3.5T long wheelbase van to and from venues.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the events industry and a solid understanding of technical lighting systems, particularly DMX protocols. You\’ll need to be a strong team player, used to working under pressure in fast-paced environments, and able to think on your feet.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of technical lighting experience (event-based preferred).

  • Strong working knowledge of lighting control systems .

  • Full UK Driving Licence – comfortable driving 3.5T long wheelbase vans.

  • Hands-on experience in events or AV hire environment.

  • Physically fit and able to lift and move equipment safely.

  • Flexible with working hours – including evenings, weekends, and occasional long shifts.

  • Positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a client-focused mindset.

  • Presentable and professional appearance when on-site with clients.
