Ready to lead a high-performing engineering team and make a real operational impact? If you're an experienced engineering leader who thrives on solving problems, reducing downtime, and driving continuous improvement, this could be the career move you've been waiting for. We don't just manage waste; we transform it into opportunity. From sustainable energy generation to innovative recycling solutions, every day is focused on improving efficiency, sustainability, and operational excellence.
Now, we're looking for a strong, hands-on Shift Engineering Supervisor to help keep operations running at peak performance. This is your chance to step into a leadership role where your technical expertise, decision-making, and people management skills will directly influence plant performance, team development, and site safety.
Why This Role Matters
As the Engineering Supervisor, you'll be the driving force behind a skilled team of Maintenance Engineers and Technicians, ensuring plant reliability, minimising downtime, and creating a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance. You won't just manage the day-to-day; you'll coach, improve, problem-solve, and lead from the front. Your ability to prioritise workloads, identify root causes, and deliver operational excellence will have a direct impact on productivity and business success.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Lead and Develop a High-Performing Engineering Team: You'll supervise and support Maintenance Engineers and Technicians, ensuring the team responds quickly and effectively to all operational engineering demands. You'll mentor, coach, and develop engineers, helping them improve fault finding, problem solving, and technical capability.
- Reduce Downtime and Improve Plant Performance: You'll take ownership of engineering priorities, ensuring work is planned efficiently to maximise uptime and minimise disruption. By leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities, you'll identify recurring issues, prevent future failures, and continuously improve plant reliability.
- Drive Safety and Compliance: Safety is non-negotiable. You'll ensure full compliance with all health and safety procedures, produce and review safety documentation, oversee permit-to-work systems, and manage contractors safely during maintenance and shutdown activities. Your leadership will help build a strong, safe, and compliant engineering culture across site.
- Manage Shutdowns and Critical Maintenance: You'll plan and oversee scheduled shutdown days, coordinating engineering activity, contractor management, permits, and site safety to ensure smooth execution and minimal operational impact.
- Communicate Performance and Priorities: Through effective handovers, shift reporting, and cross-functional communication, you'll keep management, production, and engineering teams aligned and informed.
