A well established Fire and life safety specialist is looking to hire an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of small to medium fire systems projects across the South East. This role suits someone who enjoys owning projects end to end, working closely with engineers, subcontractors, and clients, and taking pride in delivering work properly.

This is not a mega project environment. Projects are realistic in size, manageable, and varied, giving you real visibility and control rather than being lost in a large corporate structure.

The role

You will be responsible for managing fire systems projects from survey and quotation through to delivery, handover, and invoicing. This includes coordinating engineers and subcontractors, managing timelines and budgets, and acting as the main point of contact for clients.

Key responsibilities include

  • Managing multiple fire systems projects simultaneously
  • Surveying sites and assessing technical requirements
  • Producing compliant technical quotations and ensuring margins are achieved
  • Coordinating engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Managing project risk, progress reporting, and documentation
  • Raising purchase orders and managing parts logistics
  • Invoicing and following up with clients
  • Ensuring compliance with BS 5839 and industry standards
  • Upholding health and safety standards on all projects

What we are looking for

  • Experience managing fire alarm or fire systems projects
  • Strong knowledge of BS 5839
  • Background in installation, commissioning, or project delivery within the fire industry
  • Comfortable managing engineers and subcontractors
  • Good commercial awareness and customer facing skills
  • Strong organisation and communication skills
  • Competent with ERP systems and MS Office
  • Full UK driving licence

FIA qualifications and formal project management qualifications such as PRINCE2, APM, or PMP are desirable but not essential.

What's on offer

  • £45,000 to £50,000 salary depending on experience
  • Company car or £350 per month car allowance
  • Office and field based role in the South East
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, rising with service
  • Enhanced sick pay over time
  • Pension scheme
  • Life assurance at 2x salary
  • Health cashback plan
  • 24/7 GP access and wellbeing support
  • Cycle to work and tech schemes
  • Retail discounts and family friendly benefits

This is a strong opportunity for a Fire Project Manager or Fire Systems Account Manager who wants stability, responsibility, and the chance to make a real impact without the pressure of oversized projects.
