Mobile Field Service Engineer | Heavy Plant & Construction Equipment

Location: Remote / Home-Based (Derby / Sheffield region) with UK travel

Hours: Mon‑Fri, 39 hrs contracted (55‑65 hrs typical with overtime)

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 basic + OT (1.5x & 2x) | Tool & Boot Allowance | Company Van

Overview

We're urgently seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer / Mobile Plant Technician / Heavy Equipment Mechanic to service, maintain, and repair a fleet of Volvo, Caterpillar, and Komatsu heavy earthmoving machinery. This fully remote, home‑based role requires regular UK travel, typically 1‑2 overnight stays per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mobile servicing and diagnostics directly on customer sites.
  • Occasional work in the workshop when required.
  • Overhauls, electrical troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
  • On‑site welding and gas cutting (advantageous).
  • Work safely and efficiently while meeting QSHE objectives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with heavy plant, construction, or quarry equipment.
  • CSCS Card, First Aid, EPIC Quarry Passport, NVQ Level 2 desirable (training available).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Able to work independently in a field‑based role.
  • Positive, proactive attitude.
