Are you a technically curious communicator who loves turning big ideas into real world experiences?
We're recruiting a Technical Sales Engineer for a global AV integrator known for delivering some of the most memorable and technically ambitious live and installed AV experiences in the world. From world class music venues and theatres to major sports arenas, theme parks, immersive experiences, and large scale broadcast environments, this business partners with top tier brands to bring live experiences to life using cutting edge audio, lighting, video, control, and distributed media systems.
This isn't a cold sales role. You'll work with inbound opportunities and existing relationships, helping shape complex AV solutions that go on to become flagship projects. Projects you'll be involved in are high value, typically £200,000 to £1 million plus, and built around some of the market's leading manufacturers and technologies.
What this role is about
As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will act as the technical lead during the sales cycle. You'll build rapport with clients, attend site visits, understand their requirements, and partner with internal engineering teams to develop optimal solutions. You will produce detailed technical proposals and quotes and support handover to project managers to maintain continuity and quality through delivery.
In this role you combine deep product understanding with commercial insight and client confidence. You will be trusted to operate independently, keep things organised, and communicate clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What you'll be doing
- Manage inbound enquiries from clients looking for advanced AV solutions
- Attend site visits and client meetings to understand needs and constraints
- Work with engineering teams to create technically robust and commercially viable solutions
- Produce clear, accurate technical proposals and quotations
- Ensure handover to delivery teams is smooth and complete
- Build long term relationships with clients who value excellence
What we're looking for
- Experience in technical sales, pre sales, or solutions consulting within AV
- A specialism in audio, lighting, or video systems with a broad understanding across AV disciplines
- Comfortable working on large, complex projects with high expectations
- Highly organised, self managing, and confident with clients
- Able to balance technical detail with commercial thinking
You don't need to have experience in every technology this business works with, the right attitude and curiosity to learn matters more than a perfect CV.
What's on offer
- £50,000 to £60,000 basic salary
- Up to 20% bonus
- Hybrid working with genuine flexibility
- Paid mileage for site visits
- Exposure to premium, high profile international projects
- Career growth within a global engineering team
You'll be joining a business whose work has set industry benchmarks and whose teams are defining what's possible with live and installed AV around the world.
