Alecto Recruitment is working with a leading company in the power generation and renewable energy sector, who are seeking a CHP Field Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, and optimisation of generator assets across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Support installation, commissioning, and integration of new equipment and sites.
- Assist and guide Operations staff with servicing, breakdowns, and routine maintenance.
- Maintain and inspect plant equipment, including pumps, motors, PV systems, energy storage units.
- Ensure compliance with HSQE standards, company procedures, and legislation.
- Manage spare parts, stock control, and complete all required documentation and records.
- Participate in on-call rota and respond to emergency breakdowns when required.
- Monitor site performance, support audits, and handle environmental responsibilities including incident response.
- Supervise contractors and represent the company professionally on site.
Skills & Requirements
- Strong experience with overhaul of reciprocating engines in a field service environment.
- Knowledge of generator systems (e.g. MWM, CAT, MTU desirable).
- Electrical, mechanical, and heat system maintenance experience.
- Experience with control systems (12V DC - 415V AC).
- Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills.
- Gas Safe certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Full UK driving licence and basic IT skills required.
