Role Overview

We are recruiting an experienced Refrigeration Service Engineer to cover Glasgow and Central belt. This is a mobile service role working across commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems in retail, hospitality, and commercial environments. The successful engineer will carry out planned maintenance, reactive breakdowns, fault-finding, and repairs while maintaining high safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service & Maintenance
  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) of commercial refrigeration systems
  • Reactive and emergency breakdown response
  • Accurate diagnosis of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical faults
  • Component replacement including compressors, fans, valves, evaporators, and controls
  • Pressure testing, evacuation, leak detection, and refrigerant charging in line with F-Gas regulations

Systems Worked On

  • Walk-in cold rooms (chilled & frozen)
  • Multideck, upright, and undercounter display cabinets
  • Pack systems and remote condenser units
  • Freezers and blast chillers
  • Split A/C and light commercial VRF/VRV systems

Compliance & Customer Interaction

  • Completion of service reports, F-Gas logs, and compliance documentation
  • Ensuring works meet health & safety and legislative requirements
  • Liaising with site managers and facilities teams
  • Providing technical advice and repair recommendations

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
  • F-Gas Category 1 (essential)
  • Proven commercial refrigeration service experience
  • Strong electrical fault-finding skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently and professionally
