We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an on-site Painter & Decorator in HMP Long Lartin. This role requires working a 39-hour week, Monday to Friday. The Painter/Decorator plays an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prison is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner.

What you will do:

  • Planned and reactive paint work in all areas of the prison.
  • Responsibility for the care and maintenance of tools, materials and additional company property.
  • Compliance with relevant company Health & Safety Policy, instructions and directive.
  • This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
  • Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.

What you will bring:

  • Qualified to NVQ 2 or 3 in Painting & Decorating.
  • Previous relevant work‑related experience.
  • Good awareness and understanding of personal health and safety, method statements and risk assessments.
  • Comfortable working alongside prisoners.
