Alecto Recruitment is looking to hear from experienced Electricians interested in a full time, permanent position based at HMP Long Lartin in Evesham. Working as part of a team, you will carry out a crucial role by ensuring planned and reactive maintenance work is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner.
Role Profile & Responsibilities
- Hours: 39 hours per week. Weekend rota (details available upon request).
- Planned and preventative electrical maintenance.
- Diagnosing and replacing failed domestic electrical components.
- Responding to breakdowns ensuring all works are carried out under the appropriate Safe System of work and in a timely manner.
- Actively fault finding / problem solving on domestic electrical systems across the prison.
- Undertaking electrical installation activities in accordance with the design provided and IET Wiring Regulations.
- Testing and inspecting electrical installations in accordance with the current IEE wiring regulations.
- Monitoring and ordering critical spares for all electrical services.
- Other tasks as required by the Site.
This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero‑carbon in a strategic and lean manner as where it is appropriate. Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.
Desired Applicant Profile
- Ideally commercial electrical experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Right to work in the UK – our client cannot offer sponsorship.
- Appropriate technical qualification e.g. City & Guilds 2365 parts 1-3, BTEC, NVQ level 3 or above.
- Ideally 18th edition wiring regulations, although if you have 17th our client will sponsor you to upgrade.
- Experience of electrical maintenance activities, general distribution and installation and testing.
- Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations.
- Able to pass security clearances.
