The Role
As a Service Engineer, you'll travel to customer sites across the UK to maintain, repair and install pumping station equipment, helping ensure systems remain safe, reliable and operational.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on water and sewage pumping stations.
- Responding to reactive breakdowns, investigating faults and completing repairs.
- Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical issues.
- Undertaking electrical installation, servicing and remedial works.
- Responding to critical alarms through a telemetry monitoring system as part of an on-call rota.
- Supporting installation engineers with equipment installations when required.
- Completing accurate service reports and maintaining records using company IT systems.
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety, workmanship and customer service.
You’ll play an important role in keeping essential pumping infrastructure running smoothly while helping the business maintain its reputation for reliable, high-quality engineering services.
What We're Looking For
We’re looking for a technically capable, practical engineer who enjoys troubleshooting equipment and getting problems resolved.
- Experience servicing, maintaining or repairing pumping systems or similar mechanical equipment.
- A good understanding of mechanical and electrical fault-finding.
- The ability to work independently, manage your workload and meet customer deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
- Good IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate service records.
- A proactive attitude, with a willingness to support colleagues and take on additional responsibilities.
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
