Structural Engineer • £30k-£55k • Rochford, Essex
Are you keen to work for a small practice outside of London where you will have freedom and autonomy to run your own projects (with support if needed) without the grind of commuting into town? Are you looking for a flexible and friendly small firm with potential future Directorship prospects in the long term?
A well-established structural design consultancy is seeking a Structural Engineer with a minimum of 2 years of design experience to join their team. If you are more experienced and Chartered, this would be preferable. The Director is FIStructE and FICE qualified. The offices are close to Rochford station, with a car driver preferred for attending site visits. The practice is very busy and needs more people to cope. Projects range from a few hundred pounds to £10m, with workload including bespoke one-off houses, large new build blocks of flats, extensions, conversions, industrial sheds, schools, LA work, surveys, inspections and defect analysis.
Responsibilities
- Design in all the main construction materials.
- Use Autocad for drawings and documentation.
- Manage a varied workload across a range of projects (residential, commercial, education, industrial).
- Communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
- Work with support to run projects with autonomy while maintaining quality and deadlines.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of design experience. Chartered or nearing Chartered status is preferable.
- Ability to design in all main materials and proficient in Autocad.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Preference given to local candidates.
