Based in the Bristol office, you'll join a dynamic team delivering transport planning solutions for residential, commercial, education, mixed-use and strategic development schemes across the South West and beyond.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Transport Planner, you'll take ownership of projects from inception through to completion, acting as a key point of contact for clients, local authorities and project teams. You'll work closely with senior management while helping to develop and mentor less experienced team members.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing and reviewing Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Access Appraisals and related technical reports
  • Managing multiple projects and ensuring delivery to programme and budget
  • Undertaking and reviewing junction capacity assessments and transport modelling outputs
  • Providing technical input into highway and access design schemes
  • Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders, clients and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Supporting planning applications and strategic development projects
  • Attending client meetings, public consultations and stakeholder engagement events
  • Assisting with business development activities, proposals and fee submissions
  • Mentoring and supporting Graduate and Transport Planners within the team

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

  • Several years' experience within a transport planning consultancy environment
  • A proven track record delivering transport planning projects across sectors including residential, commercial, education and mixed-use developments
  • Experience preparing and reviewing technical transport planning reports
  • Strong working knowledge of junction modelling and transport assessment methodologies
  • Experience engaging with local authorities, clients and wider project stakeholders
  • A sound understanding of the UK planning system and development process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Unrestricted right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available)
