I\’m currently recruiting for a growing and well-respected consultancy based in Southampton, and they\’re looking to bring in a talented Senior Transport Planner to join their dynamic transport planning team.
If you\’re a Transport Planner with a few years of consultancy experience under your belt and are now looking for that next step in responsibility – managing your own projects, mentoring junior staff, and taking a lead role with clients – this is a great opportunity.
You\’ll be working across a wide range of development-focused transport planning projects, from residential and commercial schemes through to large-scale infrastructure developments. The company is known for its technical quality, down-to-earth culture, and genuine investment in its people.
The Role
As a Senior Transport Planner, you\’ll be managing your own workload while contributing to the success of wider project teams. You\’ll also work closely with clients and local authorities, helping to shape transport strategies that are both commercially sound and sustainable.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and access strategies
Supporting the delivery of feasibility and masterplanning studies
Liaising with clients, stakeholders, and local planning authorities
Mentoring junior team members and contributing to team development
Supporting business development through high-quality client service
What They\’re Looking For
A background in transport planning, ideally within a consultancy setting
Strong knowledge of the development planning process
Proficiency in transport planning tools (e.g. Junctions 10, LINSIG, TRICS)
Confidence working independently and taking responsibility for project delivery
