An established, design-led engineering consultancy in Bridgend is looking to appoint a Senior / Principal Civil Engineer to play a key role in its growing infrastructure team. The business works across a broad range of development-led projects, supporting clients from early feasibility through to detailed design and construction.
The consultancy is well known for delivering civil engineering solutions for residential, commercial, mixed-use and regeneration schemes, with particular strengths in highways, drainage and infrastructure design. Projects range from small bespoke developments to large-scale masterplanning schemes across the UK.
The Role
You\’ll take a leading role in the design, coordination, and delivery of civil engineering projects, working closely with directors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality, buildable solutions. Depending on level, the role offers clear scope for technical leadership, client-facing responsibility, and team management.
Responsibilities
- Leading the detailed design of drainage (SuDS), highways, and external works
- Managing projects from concept through to construction delivery
- Preparing and reviewing technical drawings, reports, and calculations
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, local authorities, and stakeholders
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers
- Contributing to bids, fee proposals, and overall project strategy (Principal level)
About You
- Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (or similar)
- Significant experience working within a UK civil engineering consultancy
- Strong technical expertise in drainage and highway design standards
- Confident using software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage or similar
- Chartered or working towards Chartership with ICE (or equivalent)
- Comfortable leading projects and engaging directly with clients
