About the Role As a Degree Apprentice, you will receive mentorship from experienced Quantity Surveyors and work alongside a skilled commercial team. Your role will involve assisting with various aspects of the commercial management of civil engineering projects, including: Helping with the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and valuations. Assisting with the procurement of subcontractors and building strong relationships with suppliers. Supporting the team in monitoring project costs to ensure that expenditure remains within budget. Assisting in the completion of project forecasts, cost value reconciliations (CVRs), and other financial reports.Throughout this apprenticeship, you will also gain exposure to different types of contracts and procurement methods, giving you a solid foundation in cost control and value management processes. You will be involved in working closely with both internal teams and external subcontractors to help ensure that projects stay on track and are delivered within financial targets. You will study towards a HNC or Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying as part of this apprenticeship, with the location of study to be agreed between you and your employer. Who We Are Looking For We are looking for candidates who are eager to learn and passionate about the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of construction contracts such as NEC3/4, JCT, or ECC, and an interest in the procurement and tendering process. You should also be comfortable using IT software, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. A proactive attitude and the ability to collaborate within a team are essential for success in this role. While experience in similar roles is not essential, any prior exposure to financial reporting or cost value reconciliations (CVRs) would be advantageous. A full driving licence is also desirable, although it is not a requirement for the position. Applicants should have at least A Levels, T-Levels, or equivalent qualifications, ideally including Maths or a related subject. What's on Offer?
