This role is ideally placed for a Senior Traffic Engineer who has experience mentoring junior engineers in parking, traffic engineering, and urban realm design to take the next step into a leading role.

Based in Old Street, in a modern office, they are a circa 50 strong, dynamic team of experts that want to welcome you, a Principal Traffic Engineer, to lead the team from a technical standpoint.
Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage the design of traffic engineering, parking, and public realm projects.
- Client Engagement: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients.
- Technical Excellence: Develop technically sound design solutions for urban transport and public realm challenges, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Team Mentorship: Mentor and lead a team of up to 6 people, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
- Project Delivery: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure rigorous quality control on all project deliverables.
Ideal Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of Parking Design , including parking layouts, parking management strategies and CPZ design.
- Expertise in Traffic Calming and Safety Measures , including 20mph zones.
- Bus User Priority Measures knowledge, including design and implementation of Bus Priority, data analysis and performance monitoring, and community engagement/stakeholder outreach. (LTN 1/24)
- Public Realm project knowledge, showing an understanding of spatial planning, user accessibility, and aesthetic considerations in urban spaces.
- Expertise in the design and implementation of cycleways, pedestrian pathways, and other active travel infrastructure.
- Professional-level knowledge of AutoCAD .
Desirable Experience:
- Detailed Design Expertise: Detailed designs for highways and public realm projects.
- Civil 3D Modelling: Proficiency with Civil 3D for highways geometric design and earthworks.
