An established consultancy is continuing to expand its Manchester presence and is looking for a Principal or Associate Engineer who wants to step into a role with real influence. This is a great chance to join a new and ambitious team where you'll be able to make your mark from day one.
You’ll work across a wide mix of projects, lead multidisciplinary teams, support and mentor others, and play a key part in shaping the future of the Manchester office. If you enjoy variety, autonomy and the opportunity to help build something, this role will suit you well.
The Role
- Taking technical responsibility for drawings, calculations, reports and design documents - both your own and those produced by others
- Confident use of Civil 3D, CAD and other design/analysis tools, and supporting colleagues as they develop these skills
- Solving technical challenges and delivering practical, well-considered engineering solutions
- Applying current design standards and a clear understanding of CDM (2015) duties
- Helping refine internal processes to ensure consistent, high-quality project delivery
- Identifying and managing risks on your projects
- Supporting and mentoring team members in their technical development
- Carrying out site visits to understand constraints and monitor construction progress
- Leading project delivery and coordinating with clients, stakeholders and third parties
- Communicating technical information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Managing project programmes, resources and financial performance
- Preparing fee proposals and cost estimates
- Building and maintaining strong, positive client relationships
- Taking responsibility for ongoing professional development
- Helping promote the business and contributing to the growth of the Manchester team
About You
You’ll be someone who enjoys taking the lead, building relationships and finding practical solutions. Strong technical grounding, a collaborative approach and an interest in developing others will all help you thrive in this role.
