An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Electrical Engineer to join a highly respected multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy with a strong presence across the UK. This role offers the chance to lead and develop electrical engineering projects across a diverse portfolio including commercial workplaces, education, healthcare, leisure, and public sector developments. You'll play a key role in project delivery, client relationships, team development, and the continued growth of the Building Services team in Leeds.

Working within a collaborative environment, you'll have the autonomy to lead projects while being supported by a wider network of experienced engineers across the region.

The Role

As an Associate Electrical Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across multiple projects, overseeing design delivery while mentoring junior engineers and supporting business development activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of electrical building services projects from concept through to completion across all RIBA stages.
  • Produce and review reports, specifications, calculations, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Manage project programmes, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technicians within the team.
  • Undertake and oversee site surveys, inspections, witness testing, and technical reviews.
  • Liaise directly with clients, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Attend and lead project meetings, providing expert technical input and advice.
  • Ensure designs comply with current legislation, industry standards, and health and safety requirements.
  • Advise clients on sustainability, energy efficiency, and carbon reduction strategies.
  • Support business development activities and contribute to winning new work.

About You

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

Requirements

  • Degree, HNC, or HND qualified in Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience delivering electrical building services projects across a range of sectors.
  • Strong understanding of RIBA work stages, current regulations, and industry guidance including BSRIA BG6.
  • Proficiency with electrical design software such as Amtech, Trimble ProDesign, or equivalent.
  • Experience using Revit and BIM workflows would be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, clients, and multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
  • Chartered status (CEng) or working towards Chartership is desirable.
