A dynamic and creative design consultancy based in Surbiton requires a Civil/Structural Engineer to join their team. Ideally, you will have buildings, substations, and bridges design experience as well as other structures. The firm works on a variety of civil/structural infrastructure projects including substation design for power networks and projects in the rail sector. Most of the current primary workload will be within the power and energy sector.
The firm is a 40-strong financially robust practice with major top-name clients. You would have the chance to make a real impact on how this business grows going forwards. They are a very social and friendly group at the office.
Excellent communication skills are essential as you will be attending meetings, site visits, and dealing with clients as well as hands-on design. Projects include:
- Design of substations and associated buildings and structures
- HV cable route design
- Renewables schemes
- Large new footbridges over railways at stations
- Rail bridges
- Lineside services and structures
- Platform extensions
- Station refurbishments
- Embankment and cutting works
- Depot buildings and structures
You must be experienced in both steel and concrete. Excellent communication skills and ability are required. You must be a good team player to be considered for this role. Collaboration is very important to this firm. The practice is flexible and friendly.
In addition to base salary, there are 25 days holiday, healthcare, critical illness insurance, bonus, pension, and work from home days if required.
