An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Civil Engineer to join a leading UK civil and structural engineering consultancy, specialising in urban regeneration, residential, and mixed-use development projects. The company is known for delivering engineering solutions across a wide range of projects. You will be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team that works closely with architects, developers, and contractors to create practical, innovative, and community-focused designs. This is an excellent role for a graduate or early-career civil engineer (up to 2 years' experience) who is looking to build hands-on design and analysis skills in a supportive, fast-paced environment. You will gain valuable experience in highways and drainage design (S278/S38), using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroDrainage, while contributing to the design and delivery of real-world projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the design and analysis of highways, drainage, and infrastructure schemes for residential and commercial developments.
- Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroDrainage to produce detailed design drawings and 3D models.
- Prepare engineering calculations, design reports, and technical documentation.
- Support senior engineers with project coordination and client communication.
- Contribute to sustainable and practical design solutions aligned with industry standards.
- Ensure all work meets relevant design codes, specifications, and best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Up to 2 years' experience in civil or infrastructure engineering (consultancy experience desirable).
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroDrainage.
- Understanding of highways and drainage design principles (S278/S38 experience beneficial).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with great attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Motivated to develop professionally and progress towards Chartered Engineer status.
