The Role
As a Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to the design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects from concept through to completion. You'll utilise your technical knowledge and creative problem-solving skills to produce high-quality engineering designs, working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities
- Producing detailed designs and calculations for highways, drainage, and site infrastructure projects.
- Preparing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy Reports.
- Developing design drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage (or InfoDrainage), and Vehicle Tracking.
- Delivering design packages and technical documentation for small to medium-sized projects.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant design standards, planning policy, and local authority requirements.
- Collaborating with colleagues across disciplines to deliver coordinated, innovative, and practical design solutions.
- Providing input to due diligence, feasibility, and pre-development engineering work.
- Managing workloads to meet project deadlines and maintain quality standards.
About You
We're looking for a capable and motivated engineer with a passion for civil design and a desire to grow professionally within a supportive environment.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Ideally 3-6 years' experience in a civil infrastructure design consultancy.
- Working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and drainage design software (MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage).
- Knowledge of BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Experience preparing and reviewing technical drawings, calculations, and reports.
- Familiarity with RIBA work stages or Eurocodes (advantageous).
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive, collaborative, and detail-oriented approach to design.
