You'll gain hands-on experience across a broad range of Building Surveying activities, including: Carrying out condition, measured and defect surveys. Assisting with technical due diligence and building pathology investigations. Producing professional reports, specifications, schedules of work and technical drawings. Supporting Project Management and Contract Administration commissions. Gaining exposure to both pre- and post-contract work across JCT and NEC contracts. Supporting refurbishment, maintenance and small-to-medium capital projects. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across a variety of sectors. Contributing to building safety, sustainability and compliance assessments. Developing your understanding of CDM 2015 and the Building Safety Act. The ideal candidate will have: A BSc (Hons) Building Surveying degree, ideally RICS accredited, or an equivalent qualification. An interest in progressing towards MRICS or an equivalent professional qualification. Some practical exposure to Building Surveying through placements, internships or previous employment. A developing understanding of building pathology, construction methods and statutory requirements. Awareness of refurbishment, extension and project delivery processes. Some experience or understanding of pre- and post-contract activities. An understanding of CDM 2015, Building Safety and Health & Safety requirements. Familiarity with standard forms of contract, particularly JCT and/or NEC. Good Microsoft Office skills. Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit or digital surveying technology would be advantageous.
