Are you a high achieving structural engineer? Would you be keen to join a dynamic, social and innovative structural engineering practice in IG9? The office is right by a Central Line station. Current staff highly recommend!
This opportunity is perfect for an academically strong candidate with high aspirations and the aim of achieving Chartership quickly (if not already achieved). A candidate with 2-5 years experience is likely to be a good fit for this role. The Director is MIStructE, MICE and an ICE Examiner.
You would be unlikely to gain such close and excellent training from such a senior mentor within a larger practice. The firm has been running for over 8 years now with more office space available and plans to expand further. They are offering an excellent monthly bonus scheme on top of basic salary as well - most other firms don't offer this!
The firm currently has 10 staff and great office space very close to the station. The offices are spacious and have their own pool table, table tennis table and beer fridge. The company has a fun social life, including an annual trip abroad.
You should have an excellent academic background, with a MEng from a top UK university in Civil or Structural Engineering with a 2.1 or above and varied experience of working in a structural design practice. An interest in architecturally challenging projects would be helpful. You must be a good team player.
The firm has a great and varied work portfolio, with a mix of larger and small projects such as architecturally led private houses, several large multi-storey developments, 3 x 30 storey towers, a new build 8 storey hotel, new rooftop apartments and a multi storey RC frame commercial project. Projects are often bespoke and challenging and could include international schemes.
You will be involved in all aspects of projects including exposure to clients, visits to sites and design in all the main materials, in addition to assisting with mentoring graduates with less experience than yourself.
The office is situated right by Buckhurst Hill station and is within short walking distance of a lovely park and pubs. The office is very dog friendly and there are currently 2 dogs which are very much part of the team.
The successful candidate will enjoy:
- A very competitive salary
- 25 days of holiday per year (rising further with length of service up to max of 30 days)
- Christmas, tax year and monthly bonuses.
- Payment of Chartership exams and training courses.
- Relaxed dress code
- Annual Office Trip abroad
- Various social outings
- Healthcare with half price gym membership
- Mobile phone
- Friday afternoon off every week and work from home Friday morning
