We're looking for a Project Engineer / Site Agent with strong technical engineering capability to support a mix of civils and infrastructure works. This role suits someone who is confident interpreting drawings, solving engineering problems on site, and working closely with designers, temporary works, and delivery teams to keep programmes moving safely and efficiently. You'll take ownership of day‑to‑day site delivery, ensuring quality, compliance, and technical assurance across structures, earthworks, drainage, utilities, and general civils packages. You'll be the point of contact for technical queries, helping drive buildability, sequencing, and practical solutions that keep the job on track. Key responsibilities Lead site delivery across allocated work packages, ensuring safe and efficient execution Provide technical guidance to engineers, subcontractors, and supervisors Review drawings, specifications, ITPs, and temporary works requirements Manage permits, RAMS, quality records, and site documentation Coordinate with designers, planners, and commercial teams to support programme and cost control Drive buildability, problem‑solving, and technical assurance on site Support progress reporting, forecasting, and stakeholder communicationIdeal background Civil engineering degree or equivalent Experience as a Project Engineer, Site Agent, or Senior Engineer within civils or infrastructure Strong understanding of temporary works, QA, and engineering control Comfortable leading site teams and managing subcontractors Able to challenge design, propose solutions, and maintain high technical standardsIf you want a role where your engineering knowledge genuinely shapes delivery, this offers autonomy, responsibility, and progression within a well‑established contractor.
