I'm working with a well-established infrastructure contractor delivering civil engineering and utility projects across the region. They're looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of key schemes. This role offers a great step up for someone looking to take on more responsibility while continuing to develop towards QS level.

The Role

The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role. You'll work closely with a Senior QS, supporting the commercial management of projects and gradually taking ownership of key tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with cost control, forecasting and reporting
  • Preparation of valuations and applications for payment
  • Subcontractor procurement, orders and account management
  • Supporting with variations, compensation events and change management
  • Assisting with CVRs and financial reporting
  • Liaising with site teams and subcontractors

Requirements

  • Experience in a Quantity Surveying or Assistant QS role within civils or utilities
  • Understanding of NEC contracts (desirable)
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ambition to progress to QS level
