Suffolk | Hybrid Working (2-3 Days On Site) | Major Infrastructure Programme

My client, a highly respected construction consultancy, is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join a major infrastructure programme in Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of significant civils and enabling works packages within a complex, long-term project environment.

Working as part of an integrated project team, you will provide commercial leadership across programme workstreams, ensuring robust contract administration and effective commercial management throughout the project lifecycle.

The Role

As Senior Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading commercial management activities across multiple workstreams
  • Administering NEC3 contracts and providing commercial guidance to project stakeholders
  • Managing payment applications, assessments and certifications
  • Leading the management and resolution of compensation events
  • Overseeing change control processes and ensuring accurate commercial reporting
  • Supporting programme delivery through proactive commercial risk management
  • Collaborating closely with project, delivery and client teams to achieve successful outcomes
About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 8 years' commercial management or quantity surveying experience
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC3 contracts
  • Proven experience in contract administration, payment mechanisms, change management and commercial reporting
  • Demonstrable experience managing payment applications and compensation events
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience within infrastructure, civil engineering, utilities, transportation or other major project environments

Sector-specific experience within nuclear or power is not essential. My client is primarily seeking candidates with strong commercial delivery capability and a track record of successfully supporting complex construction and infrastructure projects.

Additional Information

Suffolk-based project with an expectation of 2-3 days per week on site. Candidates can be locally based or willing to travel. Accommodation ('digs') support available where required. Applicants must be eligible to obtain BPSS clearance.
