Are you a structural engineer with several years of experience who would enjoy the challenge of complex temporary works design? Would you like to work in a fast paced, contractor led environment and are you good at thinking outside of the box?
This reputable design consultancy are the design arm of a large main contractor. They are an Employee Owned Trust so their people really count and this enables you to get the EOT bonus benefits. They also pay your travel to and from the office!
The work includes lots of non typical solution driven temporary works design in specialist areas, such as major building façade retentions and various complicated London building schemes. You will also be involved in design for hoardings, barriers, formwork, scaffolding hoists, fabrication design, connection design, Cat 3 checks, heavy temporary works and all sorts of exciting challenges. Projects are usually large buildings schemes on complex sites.
The role will include dealing with contractors and visits to sites. The role would suit a forward thinking, flexible and business savvy candidate who is a good communicator and possesses a think outside of the box mindset. The capability to absorb new information, adaptability and problem solving capabilities are key. Projects are always different and often one off solutions are needed.
A 2.1 degree from a good University is preferred. This role is aimed at a candidate with several years of design experience, either in permanent work or temporary works, who is keen to learn and progress their career. If you can use Ideastatica, RFEM and or Tedds that would be advantageous.
