I am working with a leading residential developer who is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join their team in and around Solihull on a freelance basis. The project is mid-programme and requires a strong individual who can take ownership, drive progress, and bring the site back on track.

The Role

As an all-rounded Site Manager, you will oversee the project including the internal packages from 1st fix through to handover, ensuring works are delivered to a high standard, on time, and in line with fire and building regulations. You will play a key role in managing day-to-day site activities, coordinating trades, and maintaining compliance with NHBC and the latest fire safety legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage internal works packages from 1st fix to completion and handover
  • Ensure full compliance with NHBC standards and new fire regulations
  • Drive the programme forward and bring the project back on track
  • Oversee quality control, health & safety, and site documentation
  • Deal confidently and effectively with subcontractors and difficult trades teams
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, client, and wider delivery team
  • Manage inspections, snagging, and final handover

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within residential developments
  • Strong understanding of fire strategies, building safety, and NHBC requirements
  • Track record of successfully recovering underperforming projects
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications essential
