Mechanical Design Engineer – Caterham / London I\’m partnered with a well-established, award-winning Building Services Consultancy with offices in Caterham and London. They\’re a team of passionate engineers and sustainability consultants who challenge convention and drive their clients\’ agenda – all with the goal of building better environments for future generations. They\’re now looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join their growing team. The role You\’ll be responsible for the mechanical building services design of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across a wide variety of commercial and residential projects. What you\’ll be doing: Preparing design and calculations in line with CIBSE, BSRIA, BRE and other industry standards Producing specifications, reports, design drawings, and budget costs in accordance with design programmes (Ideally) undertaking thermal modelling using IES-ve or similar software Monitoring building services installations on site, reporting on workmanship, and witnessing testing Managing and supervising projects alongside your Director/Group Leader, ensuring delivery to the highest technical standards Key responsibilities: Develop design concepts through to detailed design, tender, contract, and site supervision stages Establish client briefs, technical requirements, scopes of work, cost plans, and deliverables Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to produce coordinated, technically compliant designs Maintain excellent client relationships to ensure repeat business and high satisfaction levels Monitor project progress, design variations, and financial budgets What they\’re looking for: An ambitious and motivated engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment, has solid design experience, and ideally brings knowledge of thermal modelling software.
