The Role

As a Senior Highways Engineer, you'll take responsibility for the technical delivery of projects while working closely with clients, stakeholders and other members of the design team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting bids, fee proposals and business development activity.
  • Mentoring and supporting graduate and junior engineers.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business.
  • Ensuring designs consider health and safety, sustainability and buildability throughout the project lifecycle.

About You

  • Strong experience in highways and/or public realm design.
  • Experience delivering projects through feasibility, detailed design and construction.
  • Good knowledge of UK highways design standards and processes.
  • Experience with Civil 3D, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working with local authorities, developers or other public/private-sector clients.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered or working towards Chartered status would be advantageous.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join a growing consultancy where senior engineers are given genuine responsibility and the opportunity to influence projects, clients and the development of the wider team. The company offers:

  • Employee ownership, with employees able to share in the success of the business through a profit-share scheme.
  • A strong and varied pipeline of highways and transportation projects.
  • The opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of the Manchester team.
  • Opportunities to progress into technical, project and team leadership positions.
  • Support towards Chartered status and professional qualifications.
  • Professional institution membership funded by the business.
  • Flexible and hybrid working.
  • A monthly wellbeing allowance.
  • A collaborative and supportive working environment.
