Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Estimator to join a leading contractor within the construction and civil engineering sector. This role offers the chance to become part of a dynamic pre-construction team, contributing to the successful delivery of major projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for tenders across groundworks, reinforced concrete frames, infrastructure, and civil engineering packages.
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
- Manage the preparation and submission of bids in line with client requirements and deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with pre-construction, design, and operations teams to ensure estimates reflect practical and efficient solutions.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators within the team.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry, ideally with exposure to groundworks and concrete frame projects.
- Strong commercial awareness, with excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deliver under pressure to strict deadlines.
- Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office applications.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team.
