The Opportunity
We're working with a well-established, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy delivering design and build solutions across the UK and internationally. This business operates in highly regulated and secure environments, supporting projects across sectors such as defence, infrastructure, and government estates. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an Electrical Engineer to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on technically complex, high-impact projects where safety, compliance, and resilience are critical.
The Role
You will play a key role in delivering electrical building services design across the full project lifecycle - from initial concept and feasibility through to detailed design, installation, and commissioning. Working within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment, you'll gain exposure to projects that require innovative thinking and a high level of technical assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, and associated infrastructure
- Produce technical drawings, specifications, and calculations
- Support projects from concept through to completion
- Carry out site surveys and contribute to feasibility studies
- Work closely with internal teams across multiple disciplines
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards (e.g. BS7671)
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders
- Support testing, commissioning, and project handover
About You
- Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Building Services
- Experience in electrical design within a consultancy or design & build environment
- Strong understanding of building services systems
- Familiarity with UK standards and regulations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Desirable Experience
- Experience working in regulated sectors (e.g. defence, infrastructure, government)
- Exposure to BIM or coordinated design environments
- Understanding of full project lifecycle delivery
- Security clearance or eligibility for clearance (advantageous)
