Are you an experienced Building Surveyor looking for a role where you can have a genuine impact, rather than simply becoming another person in a large team? I'm working with an excellent multidisciplinary construction consultancy that is looking to appoint a Senior or Associate Building Surveyor to join its growing Exeter office. This is a particularly exciting time to join. The regional team is still relatively small but has ambitious plans for growth, giving you the opportunity to play an important part in its development while benefiting from the backing, clients and resources of a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy.
For someone looking for greater responsibility, visibility and genuine career progression, this could be a fantastic move.
The opportunity
- You'll work across a varied portfolio of projects and professional Building Surveying instructions, building strong relationships with clients and taking responsibility for delivering high-quality advice.
- Depending on your experience and level, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Deliver a broad range of professional and project Building Surveying services
- Undertake building surveys, condition surveys and defect analysis
- Prepare specifications and oversee refurbishment, repair and improvement projects
- Provide contract administration and project delivery services
- Advise clients on dilapidations, party wall matters and other professional instructions
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships
- Support business development and help grow the Building Surveying offering across the South West
- Mentor and support more junior members of the team
- Take on increasing responsibility as the Exeter operation continues to expand
What I'm looking for
- You'll ideally be an experienced Senior or Associate Building Surveyor from a consultancy or similar client-facing environment.
- You should have:
- A degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline
- MRICS status ideally, or strong progress towards Chartership
- Broad Building Surveying experience across professional and/or project work
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
- The confidence to manage your own workload and client relationships
- An interest in being part of a growing regional team and contributing to its future success
Why consider it?
The real attraction here is the combination of opportunity and backing. You'll be joining a growing Exeter team where your contribution will be noticed, but you'll also have the security, expertise and project opportunities that come with an established multidisciplinary consultancy. There is plenty of scope to develop your career as the team grows, whether you're a Senior Surveyor ready for the next step or an established Associate looking for a role with more influence and future opportunity. The salary and benefits package are highly competitive and will reflect experience and level.
