We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of major infrastructure and environmental projects across a long-term public sector framework. This opportunity would suit a commercially driven QS with strong civil engineering experience and a proven background working within NEC contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing subcontractor procurement, valuations, and payments
  • Preparing applications for payment and commercial reporting
  • Cost forecasting and budget control
  • Managing compensation events and change control processes
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
  • Supporting project delivery teams with commercial advice
  • Preparing and agreeing final accounts
  • Maintaining accurate records and contractual documentation

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Strong NEC3 / NEC4 contract knowledge
  • Experience working on framework or public sector projects preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams independently
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent experience

Desirable Experience

  • Water, environmental, highways, or heavy civils sector experience
  • Experience working alongside tier-one contractors or major frameworks
  • Chartered or working toward professional accreditation
