An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Coordinator or Senior Technical Coordinator to join a residential project in Milton Keynes. The role will be site based in Milton Keynes whilst preconstruction work will be done in their Head Office in London. The project has already progressed through a two-stage tender and is now moving into the next delivery phase, offering stability and genuine involvement from early stages through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the design development process, ensuring buildability, value engineering and risk mitigation are considered at all stages.
- Coordinate the delivery of high-quality technical and drawn information in line with programme and budget requirements.
- Manage and maintain design programmes to ensure timely approvals and information flow.
- Appoint, brief and manage external design consultants using clear and project-specific scopes of services.
- Ensure compliance with statutory approvals, including planning conditions, Building Regulations and sectional agreements.
- Lead tender and design coordination meetings as required, supporting the development of robust contractor proposals.
- Liaise closely with estimators, site teams and consultants to resolve design queries efficiently.
- Obtain and manage technical approvals from local authorities, utility providers and statutory bodies.
- Support the production of as-built information and handover documentation at project completion.
- Build strong working relationships internally and externally, with regular site presence.
About You
- Proven experience working in a Design & Technical Coordinator or Senior Technical Coordinator role with a main contractor or developer.
- Strong understanding of residential construction and the pre-construction to delivery process.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to manage risk and value.
- Confident communicator, comfortable working with multiple stakeholders.
- Highly organised and able to work to tight deadlines.
- Able to work effectively as part of a wider project team and under pressure when required.
