Location: Norwich Rate: Β£400 per day Contract: 31 August 2026 18 December 2026 CSCS: Relevant CSCS card/certificate essential Sector: Civil Engineering / Highways We are recruiting for an experienced Section Engineer to join a major highways infrastructure project in the Norwich area. This is a site-based engineering role with responsibility for taking ownership of a defined section of works, leading the planning and coordination of activities and ensuring construction is delivered in accordance with the design and contract requirements. ### The Role You will provide technical and operational leadership across your section of works, with responsibilities including: Managing, supervising and mentoring Site Engineers, Graduate Engineers and Apprentice Engineers Coordinating with engineers, supervisors, designers, subcontractors and client representatives Producing 3-month and 4-week lookahead programmes Monitoring progress against programme and identifying delays and mitigation measures Planning work sequences, constraints and interfaces Producing temporary works design briefs Reviewing designs and raising technical queries Producing and reviewing red-line drawings Maintaining accurate site records Managing plant and material requirements Monitoring subcontractor scopes and supporting payment reviews Identifying cost savings and efficiencies Producing and managing Inspection and Test Plans Managing materials approvals, quality records and Non-Conformance Records Producing and reviewing RAMS Leading health, safety and environmental standards across your section Undertaking safety and environmental inspections ### Essential Requirements Candidates should have: Degree-level qualification in Civil Engineering or an allied subject , or HND in Civil Engineering with relevant vocational training Strong site-based civil engineering experience Good understanding of engineering principles and construction methodologies Knowledge of construction contracts Relevant CSCS Card Health
