Are you a Monitoring Surveyor looking to build a long-term career in civil engineering on major infrastructure projects? Our client, a well-established civil engineering contractor, is looking to appoint a Monitoring Surveyor to join their delivery team on a long-term infrastructure project. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in delivering complex and rewarding works, while progressing your career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission and maintain geotechnical monitoring instrumentation
  • Carry out monitoring surveys and ensure accurate collection, collation and interpretation of monitoring data.
  • Manage, record and file monitoring data, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
  • Attend client meetings to discuss monitoring results and provide technical updates.
  • Prepare Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Activity Briefings and Installation Commissioning Reports.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, site management and internal project teams.
  • Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures on site.
  • Support continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Develop an understanding of project costs, risk management and commercial awareness.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience within geotechnical monitoring, instrumentation or a related engineering environment.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical reports.
  • Strong AutoCAD skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and excellent overall IT skills.
  • Good understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and industry best practice.
  • Valid CSCS Card.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.
  • Previous experience in a geotechnical monitoring or instrumentation role.
  • BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering, Geology or a related discipline (or equivalent qualification).
