I'm working with an established and highly regarded construction consultancy in London that is looking to appoint an MEP Quantity Surveyor to join its growing cost management team. This is a great opportunity for an MEP-focused QS who wants to work on high-quality, technically interesting projects while continuing to develop within a consultancy that genuinely invests in its people.
You'll work alongside experienced MEP and cost management professionals, gaining exposure to a varied portfolio of projects and clients. There is plenty of scope to take on greater responsibility as you progress, making this an excellent career move for someone ambitious but looking for the right environment in which to develop.
The Role
As an MEP Quantity Surveyor, you'll be involved across the full project lifecycle, providing specialist commercial and cost management advice on mechanical and electrical packages. Responsibilities will include:
- MEP cost planning, estimating and benchmarking
- Procurement and tender management
- Preparing and reviewing tender documentation
- Tender analysis and contractor recommendations
- Managing valuations, variations and change
- Cost reporting and forecasting
- Supporting contract administration
- Final account negotiations
- Working closely with clients, design teams and contractors
- Providing commercial advice throughout project delivery
About You
I'm looking for someone with:
- Quantity Surveying experience within MEP / building services
- Experience gained within a construction consultancy, contractor or specialist MEP environment
- Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical packages
- Strong commercial and cost management skills
- Excellent communication and client-facing ability
- A relevant Quantity Surveying or construction-related qualification
- MRICS status or working towards chartership would be advantageous, but is not essential
Why Consider It?
This is an opportunity to join a consultancy where you can build a long-term career rather than simply move into another QS position. You'll benefit from:
- Exposure to complex and technically challenging projects
- A strong pipeline of work across London
- Experienced MEP specialists around you
- Genuine opportunities for career progression
- Support towards professional development and chartership
- A collaborative and supportive working environment
- Competitive salary and benefits package
If you're an MEP Quantity Surveyor considering your next move in London, get in touch for a confidential chat about the opportunity. Alternatively, apply by sending across your CV, and I'll be in touch to discuss the role in more detail.
