I'm currently recruiting for a Junior / Assistant Electrical Engineer to join a well-established and highly respected building services consultancy based in Manchester. This business specialises in the design of mechanical and electrical systems for the built environment, working across a wide range of sectors including commercial offices, residential developments, education, healthcare and mixed-use projects. They are known for delivering high-quality, sustainable and innovative engineering solutions, and for investing heavily in the development of their people.

The Role

As a Junior/Assistant Electrical Engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers to support the design and delivery of electrical building services projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone at the early stages of their career to gain hands-on experience and structured training within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the design of electrical services including lighting, small power, fire alarms and data systems
  • Supporting the preparation of drawings, calculations and specifications
  • Using industry software such as AutoCAD and Revit
  • Liaising with internal design teams and external project stakeholders
  • Attending site visits and project meetings as required
  • Working towards increased responsibility as your experience develops

About You

  • A degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Building Services
  • Some experience or placement exposure within building services is beneficial
  • A keen interest in sustainable and low-energy design
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD/Revit would be advantageous
