An established and rapidly growing civil and environmental engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Highways Engineer to join its Manchester team. The Role
Reporting to the Highways Engineering Team Lead, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of medium-to-large infrastructure projects. The position offers a varied mix of technical design work, project coordination, client engagement, and mentoring opportunities. You will contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality engineering solutions that create safer, more sustainable, and future-focused communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver design packages for highways, infrastructure, and public realm projects
- Prepare designs in accordance with relevant industry standards and regulations, including CDM 2015
- Support project delivery, programme management, and commercial objectives
- Liaise with clients, local authorities, contractors, and key project stakeholders
- Contribute to technical excellence and best practice across the engineering team
- Support and mentor junior engineers and graduates where required
- Ensure projects are delivered to a high technical standard, on time and within budget
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in highways and/or public realm design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Proven ability to deliver projects successfully from concept through to completion
- A proactive and positive approach with a willingness to learn and support colleagues
