The Opportunity

A well-established engineering consultancy is seeking a Civil / Water Design Engineer to support a major UK water company through a long-term client secondment.
This is an opportunity to gain valuable client-side experience within the water industry, working on projects focused on surface water management, drainage, flood risk and sustainable drainage solutions.

  • Developing technical scopes and requirements for design partners
  • Presenting recommendations to clients and project stakeholders
  • Supporting project governance, reporting and risk management
  • Considering wider benefits, including flood reduction, biodiversity and water quality

What We're Looking For

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a relevant technical discipline
  • Experience in water, drainage, SuDS or flood risk
  • Understanding of surface water management and the wider water industry
  • Experience providing technical support, reviewing designs or delivering engineering projects
  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with clients and consultants
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Software experience:
