An exciting senior leadership opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Director to join a leading infrastructure contractor working on a major, long-term infrastructure programme in Kent. This role will provide strategic commercial leadership across a significant project environment, working closely with senior project, operational and business leadership.
The Role
- Providing strategic commercial leadership across the project
- Leading and developing the commercial team
- Establishing and implementing commercial strategy
- Maintaining overall control of project financial performance
- Overseeing forecasting, CVRs and cost-to-complete reporting
- Managing commercial risk and opportunities
- Leading major procurement and subcontract negotiations
- Providing senior-level contract and commercial advice
- Managing change, variations and commercial negotiations
- Supporting dispute avoidance and resolution
- Maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Ensuring robust commercial governance across the project
- Working closely with the Project Director and senior leadership team
- Supporting wider business objectives and commercial strategy
About You
The successful candidate will be an experienced senior commercial professional with:
- Significant experience operating at Commercial Director / Senior Commercial Manager level
- A strong background in civil engineering, infrastructure or major construction
- Experience leading sizeable commercial teams
- Strong NEC and contract management experience
- Proven experience managing complex, high-value projects
- Strong commercial strategy and financial management capability
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working closely with Project Directors and senior leadership
