We are working with a major global construction consultancy to recruit an Assistant Health and Safety Consultant and CDM Principal Designer for their London office. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established team of Health and Safety professionals and support the delivery of services to clients across a range of industry sectors. It will suit someone passionate about developing their career as a Health and Safety Consultant and gaining handsāon experience as a Principal Designer.
The role is primarily officeābased, with some travel to client offices and construction sites. A Health and Safety qualification, such as the NEBOSH Construction Certificate, is desirable but previous experience is not essential. Full supervision and onātheājob training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities- Assist clients in collecting and collating preāconstruction information as part of the Principal Designer duties.
- Support the compilation of the PreāConstruction Information document.
- Attend design team, client, and project progress meetings in support of senior Health and Safety Consultants.
- Help integrate health and safety principles into early project planning.
- Support the preparation and review of Health and Safety Files.
- Assist with F10 notifications to the HSE.
- Support the Principal Designer with planning, managing, and monitoring health and safety during the preāconstruction phase.
- Support the development and review of risk registers and designer risk assessments.
- Visit sites during preāconstruction to collect relevant Health and Safety information.
- Attend construction sites to support inspections and audits alongside experienced Health and Safety Consultants.
- Support designers and duty holders in meeting their CDM responsibilities.
- Assist in providing compliance information and CDM guidance.
- Work alongside ināhouse designers, project managers, Health and Safety Consultants, and external consultants.
- A Health and Safety professional looking to expand their project experience and grow into a Principal Designer role across new sectors.
- A Forces veteran seeking a civilian position where transferable skills such as leadership, risk awareness, and operational discipline align well with Health and Safety Consultant work.
- A newly qualified NEBOSH professional looking for a first step into the industry with clear progression toward becoming a Health and Safety Consultant and Principal Designer.
