Are you a Project Engineer/Senior Engineer looking for a hybrid role working on a major infrastructure programme? We are seeking a Project Engineer with specialised experience in delivering complex civil engineering packages in an aviation environment. The role spans both design and construction phases, requiring a deep technical understanding of baggage systems in live airport environments. This role is working for an exceptional business with international recognition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate design reviews and ensure alignment with operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage contractor submissions and technical documentation through platforms such as Aconex.
  • Monitor on-site installation activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and programme.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including operations, security, and airline representatives, to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Track progress and validate contractor reporting; escalate issues and blockers to the PM.
  • Review and respond to technical queries and support the resolution of design and installation challenges.
  • Ensure readiness for testing, commissioning, and handover phases.

Requirements:

  • A degree in civil engineering or construction management.
  • Proven experience delivering projects in airport environments.
  • Strong understanding of both design coordination and on-site installation of HBS and check-in systems.
  • Familiarity with airport safety protocols, stakeholder engagement, and live operational constraints.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to be based on-site at Stansted Airport up to three days per week.
