Are you a Chartered Quantity Surveyor looking for an opportunity to take a lead role on a diverse range of high-profile projects? Our client is a leading multidisciplinary construction, design and project delivery consultancy looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing Buildings & Places team in Southampton.

This is an excellent opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of public and private sector projects, including:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will act as a trusted commercial advisor to clients, taking responsibility for the successful commercial delivery of projects while building strong, long-term relationships with clients and project teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the commercial delivery of projects, ensuring agreed cost, quality and programme objectives are achieved.
  • Preparing and managing cost plans, budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Providing strategic cost and commercial advice throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Managing contract administration activities across a variety of projects.
  • Maintaining strong financial control, project profitability and accurate forecasting.
  • Ensuring governance, quality standards and client KPIs are consistently achieved.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the Quantity Surveying team.
  • Supporting client account growth and identifying potential new business opportunities.

Proven Quantity Surveying and Cost Management experience within a consultancy environment is required, along with experience delivering projects across property and development sectors. You should have experience managing complex projects and multiple priorities, as well as excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

You will be part of a supportive local team while also having access to a wider network of industry specialists and experts. The role offers exposure to complex and high-profile projects, excellent career progression opportunities and the chance to play a key role in the continued growth of the Quantity Surveying service.
